B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology
A Bachelor of Science in Operation Theatre Technology (B.Sc. OTT) is a four-year professional degree program that trains students to work in operating theaters.
- B.Sc. OTT graduates are skilled healthcare professionals who assist surgeons and medical teams in the operating theater. Their responsibilities include:
Supporting doctors during surgeries
Managing surgical instruments
Sterilizing instruments before and after procedures
Following surgeons' instructions during critical situations
Handling anesthesia equipment
Assisting surgeons in administering anesthesia
Setting up anesthetic and monitoring equipment
Maintaining and keeping up with anesthetic equipment and monitoring devices.
The course covers topics such as:
- Ethics
- Operation theater preparation work
- Managing equipment needed during surgery.
- Eligibility :
The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of: Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course) Or Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre-degree Examination (10+2) (Physics, Chemistry & Biology & English) with minimum of 45% aggregate marks (PCBE), For reserve category 40% for SC, ST, NT, OBC & other reserve categories. Candidate shall be medically fit.
Entrance/Selection Test: Selections of the candidates is being made by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination on the basis of merit after conducting Entrance Examination.
